Public Transportation

As Heidelberg is quite a small city every spot in the city centre should be easily reachable by foot. If you want to get around by bus or tram there are several options at hand:

• a one way fare costs €1,90 to be paid cash to the bus driver
• or get a "Ticket 24 plus" for €6,00 (24 hours of free use within Heidelberg)
• or a three-day ticket for €12,00.

Tourist Guide for Handicapped People

If you want to be mobile and save some money on entrance fees think about buying the Heidelberg Card (generally recommended, as it costs €20, allows you to use public transportation within Heidelberg for four days and gets you in the castle and other highlights for free).

Individual traffic maps and schedules:

• for those staying at the Youth Hostel (traffic map | schedule)
• more individual traffic maps are coming soon

• complete map of the public transportation sytem (big file, 3 MB)

For other connections and up-to-date schedules please refer to the general VRN bus schedule.
