《電影日報》，近代文藝小報，日報。創辦於1940年8月8日，1941年12月1日停刊，中間僅因為印刷問題，暫停幾日。創辦人和主編不詳，責任編輯中有徐卓呆。主要撰稿人有安克、湯傑、東尼、江馬、高凡、海甯、黃浦、迺客、影人、司徒漾、阿許、端木英子、李星。版式為豎版四開四版。本報主旨在於及時報導中國電影界的消息，並刊登電影劇本、電影評論、電影歌曲、讀者來信和有獎問答等內容。此報較為固定的欄目有“閃電新聞、電影劇本、五味教科書、長短波、特寫鏡頭、今日電影、每週征答、李阿毛信箱、老子曰、電影歌曲選登、集體影評、電影漫畫、影迷俱樂部、小趣味、銀色列車、雜感亂飛、讀者議院、電影小說、出賣小豆腐、明星的吃、陪都影訊、耳邊私語、消息網、銀彈、過眼雲煙、文摘、東鱗西爪”等。本報內容集中，基本不涉及電影之外的時事。本報最主要的內容是介紹中國電影界的最新消息，尤其是三大電影公司、當紅女星男星、上海影院的消息，其中尤其關注的明星有周璿、李綺年、白雲。本報的另一個重點是連載了不少電影劇本或根據電影劇本改編的電影小說。電影歌曲、歌詞的刊載也是本報特色之一。本報以報導為主，對電影界的批評較少。對國外電影界的動態，所占比例較小，且基本都是關於好萊塢的電影界。本報所刊照片以中國本土的電影明星，尤其是女星的生活照片為主，劇照相對較少，也刊登極少量國外電影演員的照片。本報早期的照片大小和數量占版面篇幅很大，接近三分之一，後期所占篇幅明顯下降。本報照片的拍攝角度多樣而開放，甚至有相當程度的色情意味。漫畫數量很少。本報所刊載廣告篇幅較小，基本都集中在報紙中縫和版面下方，不占主要位置，內容多樣，主要是醫藥、珠寶、手錶、食品廣告以及電影新片預告。其他相關總結，請參見本數據庫的Document Comments。（陳亮）

Dian Ying Ri Bao (Movie Daily News), an entertainment daily newspaper, founded on August 8th 1940, ceased publication on December 1st, 1941. Its founder and chief-editor are not clear, executive editors include Xu Zhuodai. It focused solely on the art of film, especially the latest news of movie studios, film stars and movie houses in Shanghai, with an outstanding character of many publications of film scripts and film songs. The main aim of this newspaper is not to criticize and analyse, but to report. The western films, which occupy a small proportion of the content, in its field of vision are solely Hollywood-films. It has some relative fixed columns, which are mainly about the entertainment news, film scripts, film novels, film songs and questions and answers on films. The number of the published photos is about two or three pieces every issue, highly focused on the photos of famous film stars in everyday life. Their postures reveal much implication of social openness and even somewhat eroticism. The advertisements occupy a relative secondary position, which appear almost only in the centre joints and lower parts of the print pages. Their content are mainly about medicine, jewelry, watches, clothes, new films. There are almost no caricatures in this newspaper.
